Taylor Pool
I am from Burke, VA (right outside D.C.). I graduated in May 2007 from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) with a B.S. in Environmental and Natural
Resources: Economic Policy Concentration, and a minor in Legal Studies. I plan to eventually go to law school for environmental law, but I have been putting off taking the LSAT for quite sometime. I love wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, and playing lacrosse.
Sam Price
Sam Price is a quiet, thoughtful observer of things. She is also very careful what she reveals about herself, so it takes some time to get acquainted with her. As an army brat she went to a number of primary and secondary schools and a couple of colleges before earning a Bachelor's of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas. While a student in Kansas she traveled to Russia for a cultural exchange, Costa Rica to study bats, Texas to watch birds, and Alaska to unearth prehistoric middens. She would like to travel more. Central and South America would make satisfactory agenda items. There are very good birds there.
As a student she worked for a couple of years in a natural history museum (fifth largest collection of mammals in the world). She got the job because two of her professors thought she would be a good match with the supervisor in the mammal collection. He had a lot of rules and liked order. It was a very good fit. She left Kansas to begin her first stint with the AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Project. She worked with a hydrologist and a geomorphologist at the Redwood Sciences Lab where she got a lot of information about rocks, erosion, watersheds, and the like. Now, in her second year, she is with the California Department of Fish and Game in Eureka where she has already worked with fish and frog eggs. She thinks it’s going to be a great year.
